A summer evening on the river with the kids in the bow of your pontoon and your spouse by your side is there anything better? Its moments like these that really make people realize why they love boating so much. Those who want to experience these moments but often find boating a little out of reach, need not with the Sweetwater Tuscany series.
Sweetwaters Tuscany series is built to be affordable to help get everyone out on the water at an economical price. And the 2086 I had the chance to spend some time with was a great example of this.
At first look, the new bright red colour scheme for 2010 was eye popping and quite stunning to look at. The interior had flashes of the same red on dark beige upholstery, which helped tone it down.
The interior had a standard pontoon layout: facing couch-style seating in the bow, with an L-shaped lounge in the aft surrounding a removable table. This is the tried, tested and true pontoon layout that allows for great conversation and comfort while enjoying the sunset.
From here, a privacy change station and reboarding ladder aft, as well as a stereo, round out the most notable features. But, really, what more do you need? This is a simple boat for the owner who isnt discriminating and is more interested in the family time the boat brings than all the bells and whistles.
The 60-hp Evinrude E-TEC outboard on our test boat made for a great match. Its low maintenance so youll be out boating more with less service bills. Not to mention it provides great performance with a top speed of 22.8 mph at 5200 rpm and a steady cruise of 13.6 mph at 3500 rpm.
Youre not going to be the fastest or flashiest boat on the lake with this toon, but you wont care. Youre new to boating and just want to enjoy time out on the water with your loved ones without breaking the bank. And for that, my friend, the Sweetwater Tuscany 2086 is the boat for you.
