Part of Sea-Doo sport boats recreation category, the 210 Challenger SE is definitely built for play and has enough room for nine of your friends to come along for the ride. This 20-foot, 6-inch boat has a spacious cockpit layout that makes it feel bigger than its stats would dictate. Add some truly innovative features and youve got a boat that offers up a pretty good challenge for its competitors.
At the top of the innovation list are the transat lounge seats on the rear sundeck. These fold-out seats will be great for sun bathing, watching swimmers or enjoying a quick lunch with the portable table mounted in place.
The large, lockable storage compartment in the swim platform is another great addition, as it offers access to your gear right where the action is. Dont worry, though, theres still an in-floor locker, as well as plenty of compartments tucked under seating throughout the boat.
For performance, the hands-down innovation winner on the 210 is the Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC) system. This drive-by-wire system is not only highly responsive it also allows you to set cruise control perfect for tow sports or no-wake zones.
When it comes to tried and true features, the 210 Challenger SE comes out strong as well.
Reboarding ladders at the bow and stern provide easy access and stainless steel hardware speak to the overall fit-and-finish. At the helm, the gauges and satellite-ready AM/FM stereo withMP3 plug in are easy to read and in good position.
Out on the water, the 210 continued to impress with the twin Rotax engines pushing us out of the hole with minimal bow rise to 20 mph in a mere 2.1 seconds. With two on board and the Bimini up, our test boat reached a top speed of 54 mph at 7900 rpm.
Overall handling was responsive, turning was tight and cruising was smooth across the calm waters. While the 210 accelerated quickly throughout the range, the throttles docking mode will control speed during close quarters manoeuvring.
Sea-Doos 210 Challenger SE doesnt make recreation a challenge with the amenities and driving features for a fun day out on the water with all your friends in tow.
