2007 Starcraft 2000 Limited I/O Description

If you're looking for a boat with a pontoon's
stability and space for entertaining teamed
with the style and performance of a runabout,
then look no further.
The 2007 Starcraft 2000 Limited deck boat
features a wide reverse chine Vee hull, which
combines Vee boat handling with the stability of
a pontoon. On board, the 2000's spacious cockpit
and multitude of storage space means lots of
room for relaxing and places to tuck away watersports
accessories.
The single side console helm features a bucket
seat with flip-up bolster and an under helm
storage compartment. The dash has easy-to-read
gauges sporting a cool chrome-like look, while a
small windshield offers excellent visibility but limited
protection from the elements. The Starcraft
2000 Limited also has an optional digital depth
finder and tachometer gauge with hour meter
(replaces standard tachometer). Just forward of
the helm is a convenient sink and faucet.
In the cockpit, this deck boat offers lots of
space for passengers, provisions and, of course,
toys. A four-person bench seat in the bow area
has under storage, including a removable 36-
quart cooler. To starboard is a front-facing lounge
seat with more storage underneath. Additional
spaces to tuck items away are located in the floor,
as well as under the stern bench seat. A convenient
bumper storage area is located on the transom,
helping to keep these necessary items out of
the way yet still easy to access. A hinged hatch
offers easy accessibility to the engine compartment
for regular maintenance checks.
Other features in the cockpit area include a
removable table with screw-in base, full padding
with bow coaming pads and lots of beverage
holders.
The Starcraft 2000 Limited also has several
great features for play. It has an integrated stern
swim platform as well as a bow platform, each
with its own fold-away telescopic boarding ladder.
Once on board, the boat can be entered
either through the bow centre walk-through or
the port-side rear walk-through.
Several options allow buyers to further customize
this boat to meet their unique boating
needs. These include bow filler cushions, marinegrade
UV-stable snap-in carpeting, a wake tower,
extended swim platform, shower on bow platform
(requires freshwater system) and even a fishing
package, including bait well, two fish seats
and rod storage.
On the water, the Starcraft 2000 Limited
handled great with good performance numbers.
The test boat tracked well and turned sharply at
high speeds. Our test day was relatively calm, but
the 2000 carved easily through the waves and
wakes from other boaters. The 2000 Limited was
reasonably quick out of the hole, reaching 20
mph from idle at 4.47 seconds and hitting 30
mph in 8.22 seconds. Our test boat being
equipped with carburetors rather than fuel-injection
technology may be why the test boat did not
rack up more impressive numbers, but this package
would definitely help to keep the price point
down. Either way, the 2000 Limited had smooth
acceleration through all ranges, offering a comfortable
and stable ride.
With a retro-chic look and solid handling,
the Starcraft 2000 Limited is a versatile boat great
for a day out on the water - whether you're cruising
the lake, getting from A to B or towing a
bunch of friends visiting the cottage for the weekend.
