Serious fishermen require serious boats. Thats why centre console boat manufacturers have been trying to fit the needs of fishermen for years. Well, now there is a fishing boat on the market that is going to require fishermen to meet ITS needs.
That fishing boat is the Scout 262 XSF the latest offering from Scout boats that took its successful Sportfish line and perfected it even more. As you walk up to the 262 at the dock, its hard not to notice the 350-hp Yamaha four-stroke V8 outboard sitting on the transom. If that doesnt get you excited, then keeping reading.
Inside the boat its clear this is built for fishing. With live wells, rocket launchers, integrated tackle boxes and storage in spades, you know youre in for some great angling. The 145-gallon fuel tank allows for great range for getting to any fishing grounds and back again. Add the strong centre console with a bolster seat that practically hugs you in place and youre set for action in comfort and style.
Putting the throttles down on the Scout 262 XSF, the beefy 350-hp V8 muscled the nearly two-ton boat out of the water reaching plane in just over five seconds. A comfortable 30 mph cruise was achieved in an easy 10 seconds with a top speed of 54 mph at 5900 rpm. All the while Scouts NuV3 hull provided stability and a very quiet ride, even in the chop of Georgian Bay.
The NuV3 design, comprised of variable degree angles in the hull, also offers improved fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. Turning the stainless steel finger grip wheel with power knob hard, the drop-step chine kicks in and carves like a knife, almost touching the Bimini to the water! But with complete control, the 262 XSF steers out strong and true.
